At this point, I consider AI to be a useful assistant. I jokingly told a colleague that it’s like a really proficient intern (I was j-o-k-i-n-g – I don’t actually mean that, humans are better than software!). However, AI and ChatGPT Prompts are key to success.
I have used AI to help figure out all sorts of things and generate information that I can work off. I am smart enough to know that, like any information you stumble across, you need to vet sources and use your own brain to make something good, when using AI as a tool. My first reaction, when I used AI tools, was that they are like “what a search engine should have always been” — an answers engine, with lots of caveats to factor into their use.
Using AI requires you to know how to ask the right questions and give it the right inputs. Wired has just published some tips to help you do just that.
